Finland’s smallest automobile museum

Welcome to explore the fascinating world of motoring and motor vehicles in the heart of Ikaalinen! Located in Shopping Centre Komppi, Finland’s Smallest Automobile Museum tells big stories about the history of road transport in Finland. The museum is open during the shopping centre’s regular opening hours.

Maintained by the Ikaalinen Region Vehicle Enthusiasts Association (Ikaalisten Seudun Ajoneuvoharrastajat ry), the museum offers something to see for dedicated automotive enthusiasts as well as the whole family. The exhibition changes twice a year, and admission is free of charge.

On 26 September 2026, a new exhibition titled “Checker Taxis in Finland” opened at Finland’s Smallest Automobile Museum. The exhibition is based on the history of the Checker taxis brought to Helsinki for the 1952 Olympic Games and also explores taxi transportation in Finland during the 1950s.

Visitors can now see the world’s only operational Checker A2 models, which are on display in Ikaalinen. In addition to the Checkers, the exhibition features a rare Overland vehicle that also has a history as a taxi. The exhibition will remain on display until April 2027.
