The Fredrika Sofia church, a roadside church in Ikaalinen, was inaugurated as early as 1801, with its belfry finished in 1861. The church has approximately 1 100 seats. This wooden cruciform church is a very impressive sight.

The Finnish Accordion Institute maintains an accordion collection that includes nearly every important Finnish five-row accordion model over thirty years of age. Most of its instruments date to the 1930s and 1940s. The oldest accordion in the collection is a German model from the 1880s.

Riitiala and its neighbouring villages, Heittola, Höytölä, and Kiiala, are ancient farming locations in Satakunta. A pivotal factor in the settlement of those villages is Lake Kyrösjärvi, whose shores were settled in the middle of the Iron Age. People have remained in the same location to this day. The villages of Riititala and Heittola are of great cultural and historical value, are still going strong, and still have a touch of the 19th century about them.

The village district of Iso-Röyhiö is the oldest settled area in eastern Ikaalinen and has been inhabited since the Iron Age. Iso-Röyhiö's Alaskylä was built as a group village in the typical Hämäläinen style. Its village structure is one of the best preserved in the area. The houses are clustered tightly along the village road, on the shore of Lake Kyrösjärvi.

Oma Tupa, the magnificent 100-year-old banqueting hall in Ikaalinen’s Old Market Square, is a central attraction that can be rented for parties, events, and concerts. The building was designed by architect Bertel Strömmer.

Built around 1832, Rahkola hall is right in the centre of Ikaalinen, next to the church. The handsome structure has served as a school, cattle yard, and district courthouse. Rahkola is a beautiful building with clean lines and is considered valuable by the Finnish Heritage Agency.

Kallionkieli village, on the shore of Lake Kyrösjärvi, is a very old residential area with a name that may derive from a striking clifftop or ledge. The village is distinctive in that all seven farmhouses were built side by side on the same rock. Two farms were later moved a little apart from the others. Even today, these five farms and their buildings still form a tight 'hamlet.'

Ikaalinen’s Local Heritage Museum displays objects from the Ikaalinen parish area. The museum is housed in a former granary from the 1830s next to the church, which was handed to the museum society by the municipality of Ikaalinen in 1966. The museum opened in August 1967.

The sparkling blues of Lake Kyrösjärvi frame a green urban area and numerous cosy country villages. Lake Kyrösjärvi also offers great opportunities for versatile fishing and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature.

In 1919, a prayer room association was founded in east Ikaalinen, following which a prayer room was built in Luhalahti, following the plans of Bertel Strömmer. Finished in 1934, the prayer room was inaugurated for that purpose in the same year. It was later inaugurated as a church.

Luhalahden Kyläpuoti is a traditional general store open during the summer, in Ikaalinen’s Isoröyhiö district. The shop has a small café and premises that exude a sense of history. You can organise events in the Kyläpuoti.

At Luomajärven Kievari you'll find an authentic country atmosphere and plenty of animals to pet! It costs nothing to visit. The farm has Finnish and Estonian horses, with miniature pigs, donkeys, cats, and many breeds of chicken, rabbit, sheep, and goat. Next door, you’ll find handsome horned cows grazing. We also have a children's playground. You can reserve a day for the whole family that includes farm activities, pony rides, horseback riding, and horse-drawn carriage rides.

On the border of Ikaalinen and Ylöjärvi, Seitseminen National Park is a great destination for hiking and day trips. Kovero crown forest croft (Koveron kruununmetsätorppa) shows the way of life in the district at the beginning of the last century. The Multiharju primeval forest is one of the oldest forest areas in southern Finland.

Founded by Emperor Alexander II in 1858, the Wanha Kauppala is said to be the oldest, smallest, and most beautiful in Finland. Its valuable old buildings have survived in outstanding condition. Its leafy hardwood boulevards and beautiful parks invite you to explore the market alleyways.
